AccuCities Licencing Options Explained

AccuCities 3D Models are offered under various licenses. The licence of a product has an overall impact on how 3D models can be used, what products can be produced and how they can be shared. This article aims to help you understand the licencing implications and, where available, to chose the right licence.

AccuCities provides some areas from our 3D City Models Library as Free AccuCities Samples. These 3D models are published under Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) Licence. This license lets users remix, adapt, and build upon our work even for commercial purposes, as long as the users credit us and license their new creations under the identical terms. This license is often compared to “copyleft” free and open source software licenses. All new works based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also allow commercial use. We strongly advise users to read the entire licence.

AccuCities 3D city tiles and Custom 3D Models are licensed under a 5 year long Single Customer, Multiple Use licence. This means that the Customer can use the licensed 3D model on unlimited projects by unlimited number of Customer employees who can create unlimited number of products. Licensee cannot share this 3D model in a format that allows for use of 3D model geometry with any 3rd parties.

Project Licence is an upgrade to a Standard Licence. Its term is also 5 years but in contrast to our Standard Licence it allows Unlimited number of Parties working on the same project to use the 3D model and its geometry. All parties working on a named project are allowed to share the 3D model in a format that allows for use of 3D model geometry with any number of further 3rd parties. The use by all parties is limited to a single named project.

The cost of Project licence is 150% of the Full price quoted by AccuCities.

AccuCities 3D city tiles and Custom 3D Models are licensed under a 5 year long Multiple Use licence by a Customer who is a full-time student working on a non-commercial project. Students can create unlimited number of products but cannot share this 3D model in a format that allows for use of 3D model geometry by any 3rd parties. Order size limited to a single tile, only available for Library 3D Models.

The cost of Student licence is 20% of the Full price listed on AccuCities website.

During the subscription term (minimum 12 months), AccuCities Subscribers can use 3D city model data to work on unlimited number of projects by unlimited number of their employees. They can share limited parts of 3D model data with their subscontractors and other 3rd parties.
