Delva Patman Redler LLP have been instructed by Unite Students to assess the potential effects of the proposed development within the courtyard at East Central House on daylight, sunlight and overshadowing to neighbouring residential properties.

The study has been carried out in August 2018 in accordance with the recommendations of the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Report 209, Site Layout Planning for Daylight and Sunlight: A guide to good practice (second edition, 2011) (“the BRE guide”).

To produce the report, DPR has used AccuCities Level 3 model for context and site 3D models. In line with standard industry practice, they further upgraded the 3D model to optimise it to fit their requirements.
