The new version of Plan.City comes packed with tools to supercharge your Urban Planning tasks. Plan.CityPlan.City 1.1 has been released on the 15th of September 2020. Exactly one year on, urban planning app Plan.City is its third version. It is our biggest update yet and will be the last before Textured 3D London comes to Plan.City.

This time the update is very much like an iceberg. The visible changes (and there are many of them) are only the tip of the iceberg of work that went into it. From many new features, we have picked the most interesting ones: 3D London model, Future Skyline, Import Tool and ViewShed Tool updates and brand new Sky Analysis tool.

Updated 3D London model & Future Skyline

The 3D London update project has been running throughout 2021. All 60 square kilometers have now been updated, using the imagery from the latest aerial survey of London conducted in July 2019. Future Skyline has been significantly enlarged, bringing the total number of Future Skyline projects to 126.

Updated 3D models Import Tool

Import FBX models with editable materials. Imported 3D models are fully interactive with the 3D city models. Measure, Create a Zone of Theoretical Visibility, check against LVMF corridors, even run a Sky Analysis. Most common questions answered in real time.

Updated ViewShed Tool

Create a map of Zone of Theoretical Visibility. It is now much easier to work with, it is easy to place emitters and the tool runs in near real-time. Works with a Builder Tool or with imported FBX models.

New Sky Analysis Tool

Measure, save and compare Visual Sky Component values. Values are measured on a facade in a grid. Not a substitution for a VSC study, the tool is capable of rapidly highlighting issues. Works with any existing, imported or built 3D model.
