At AccuCities, we take pride in creating the most accurate, detailed and up-to-date 3D city models on the market. As part of the cyclical update and upgrade of the model, we are introducing detailed 3D models of the main London statues. And that gave us an idea: how difficult would it be to bring our 3D model of London to life?

Who is Lord Horatio Nelson?

Lord Horatio Nelson was a British naval commander, who played a significant role in the Napoleonic Wars. He was born on September 29, 1758, in Norfolk, England, and became a midshipman at the age of 12. Over the years, he proved to be an excellent sailor and strategist, and his leadership and bravery earned him the admiration and respect of his peers and the British people.

One of the most significant moments of his career was the Battle of Trafalgar, which took place on October 21, 1805. The battle was fought between the British Royal Navy and the combined fleets of France and Spain. Nelson led the British fleet to victory, but he was fatally wounded in the battle and died a few hours later. His death made him a national hero and earned him a place in British history as one of the greatest naval commanders of all time.

In honor of his achievements, a statue of Lord Nelson was erected in Trafalgar Square, London. The statue stands at the center of the square and was designed by Sir Edwin Landseer. The statue is 18 feet tall and made of bronze, with Nelson standing on top of a column that is 170 feet high. The column is made of granite and is surrounded by four bronze lions.
